Artist Statement
Elijah Revell is a multi-talented artist who works in a range of mediums and has participated in many art events across Aotearoa including live sculpture demonstrations, performance, art auctions, group exhibitions, music festivals, art classes and has set up over 50 exhibitions.
He specialises in making and playing taonga puoro (Māori musical instruments) and believes in keeping traditional knowledge and customs alive.
He has dedicated his life to the arts, leaving home at 16 to study Māori art and design and since going on to complete a Bachelor of Arts, he has never looked back.
