I lead and develop awareness around Māori culture by using kapahaka as a platform. This involves, writing, sourcing and teaching Māori songs, historical background, actions and choreography and materials such as; poi, ti rakau, tititorea and mau rakau and creating a positive and safe environment for learning and discussion around cultural traditions, values and practices, through music and performance, increasing the desire to learn more. Influencing students, their families, friends and the wider community to become more engaged.
